[!abstract] The tabernacle is commanded to be set up and anointed. God fills it with his majesty.

GR καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων
LA Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:
EN And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

GR ἐν ἡμέρᾳ μιᾷ τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ πρώτου νουμηνίᾳ στήσεις τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου
LA Mense primo, prima die mensis, eriges tabernaculum testimonii,
EN The first month, the first day of the month, you shall set up the tabernacle of the testimony,

GR καὶ θήσεις τὴν κιβωτὸν τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ σκεπάσεις τὴν κιβωτὸν τῷ καταπετάσματι
LA et pones in eo arcam, dimittesque ante illam velum:
EN and shall put the ark in it, and shall let down the veil before it:

GR καὶ εἰσοίσεις τὴν τράπεζαν καὶ προθήσεις τὴν πρόθεσιν αὐτῆς καὶ εἰσοίσεις τὴν λυχνίαν καὶ ἐπιθήσεις τοὺς λύχνους αὐτῆς
LA et illata mensa, pones super eam quæ rite præcepta sunt. Candelabrum stabit cum lucernis suis,
EN And you shall bring in the table, and set upon it the things that are commanded according to the rite. The candlestick shall stand with its lamps,

GR καὶ θήσεις τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χρυσοῦν εἰς τὸ θυμιᾶν ἐναντίον τῆς κιβωτοῦ καὶ ἐπιθήσεις κάλυμμα καταπετάσματος ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου
LA et altare aureum, in quo adoletur incensum, coram arca testimonii. Tentorium in introitu tabernaculi pones,
EN and the altar of gold, whereon the incense is burnt before the ark of the testimony. You shall put the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle,

GR καὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τῶν καρπωμάτων θήσεις παρὰ τὰς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου
LA et ante illud altare holocausti:
EN and before it the altar of holocaust.

LA labrum inter altare et tabernaculum, quod implebis aqua.
EN The laver between the altar and the tabernacle, and you shall fill it with water.

GR καὶ περιθήσεις τὴν σκηνὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτῆς ἁγιάσεις κύκλῳ
LA Circumdabisque atrium tentoriis, et ingressum ejus.
EN And you shall encompass the court with hangings, and the entry thereof.

GR καὶ λήμψῃ τὸ ἔλαιον τοῦ χρίσματος καὶ χρίσεις τὴν σκηνὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ἁγιάσεις αὐτὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη αὐτῆς καὶ ἔσται ἁγία
LA Et assumpto unctionis oleo unges tabernaculum cum vasis suis, ut sanctificentur:
EN And you shall take the oil of unction and anoint the tabernacle with its vessels, that they may be sanctified:

GR καὶ χρίσεις τὸ θυσιαστήριον τῶν καρπωμάτων καὶ πάντα αὐτοῦ τὰ σκεύη καὶ ἁγιάσεις τὸ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἔσται τὸ θυσιαστήριον ἅγιον τῶν ἁγίων
LA altare holocausti et omnia vasa ejus,
EN The altar of holocaust and all its vessels:

LA labrum cum basi sua: omnia unctionis oleo consecrabis, ut sint Sancta sanctorum.
EN The laver with its foot: you shall consecrate all with the oil of unction, that they may be most holy.

GR καὶ προσάξεις Ααρων καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὰς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ λούσεις αὐτοὺς ὕδατι
LA Applicabisque Aaron et filios ejus ad fores tabernaculi testimonii, et lotos aqua
EN And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and having washed them with water,

GR καὶ ἐνδύσεις Ααρων τὰς στολὰς τὰς ἁγίας καὶ χρίσεις αὐτὸν καὶ ἁγιάσεις αὐτόν καὶ ἱερατεύσει μοι
LA indues sanctis vestibus, ut ministrent mihi, et unctio eorum in sacerdotium sempiternum proficiat.
EN you shall put on them the holy vestments, that they may minister to me, and that the unction of them may prosper to an everlasting priesthood.

GR καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ προσάξεις καὶ ἐνδύσεις αὐτοὺς χιτῶνας
LA Fecitque Moyses omnia quæ præceperat Dominus.
EN And Moses did all that the Lord had commanded.

GR καὶ ἀλείψεις αὐτούς ὃν τρόπον ἤλειψας τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν καὶ ἱερατεύσουσίν μοι καὶ ἔσται ὥστε εἶναι αὐτοῖς χρῖσμα ἱερατείας εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα εἰς τὰς γενεὰς αὐτῶν
LA Igitur mense primo anni secundi, prima die mensis, collocatum est tabernaculum.
EN So in the first month of the second year, the first day of the month, the tabernacle was set up.

GR καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωυσῆς πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ κύριος οὕτως ἐποίησεν
LA Erexitque Moyses illud, et posuit tabulas ac bases et vectes, statuitque columnas,
EN And Moses reared it up, and placed the boards and the sockets and the bars, and set up the pillars,

GR καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ πρώτῳ τῷ δευτέρῳ ἔτει ἐκπορευομένων αὐτῶν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου νουμηνίᾳ ἐστάθη ἡ σκηνή
LA et expandit tectum super tabernaculum, imposito desuper operimento, sicut Dominus imperaverat.
EN and spread the roof over the tabernacle, putting over it a cover, as the Lord had commanded.

GR καὶ ἔστησεν Μωυσῆς τὴν σκηνὴν καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τὰς κεφαλίδας καὶ διενέβαλεν τοὺς μοχλοὺς καὶ ἔστησεν τοὺς στύλους
LA Posuit et testimonium in arca, subditis infra vectibus, et oraculum desuper.
EN And he put the testimony in the ark, thrusting bars underneath, and the oracle above.

GR καὶ ἐξέτεινεν τὰς αὐλαίας ἐπὶ τὴν σκηνὴν καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τὸ κατακάλυμμα τῆς σκηνῆς ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἄνωθεν καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ
LA Cumque intulisset arcam in tabernaculum, appendit ante eam velum ut expleret Domini jussionem.
EN And when he had brought the ark into the tabernacle, he drew the veil before it to fulfil the commandment of the Lord.

GR καὶ λαβὼν τὰ μαρτύρια ἐνέβαλεν εἰς τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ ὑπέθηκεν τοὺς διωστῆρας ὑπὸ τὴν κιβωτὸν
LA Posuit et mensam in tabernaculo testimonii ad plagam septentrionalem extra velum,
EN And he set the table in the tabernacle of the testimony, at the north side, without the veil,

GR καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν τὴν κιβωτὸν εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τὸ κατακάλυμμα τοῦ καταπετάσματος καὶ ἐσκέπασεν τὴν κιβωτὸν τοῦ μαρτυρίου ὃν τρόπον συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ
LA ordinatis coram propositionis panibus, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi.
EN setting there in order the loaves of proposition, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

GR καὶ ἔθηκεν τὴν τράπεζαν εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἐπὶ τὸ κλίτος τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου τὸ πρὸς βορρᾶν ἔξωθεν τοῦ καταπετάσματος τῆς σκηνῆς
LA Posuit et candelabrum in tabernaculo testimonii e regione mensæ in parte australi,
EN He set the candlestick also in the tabernacle of the testimony, over against the table on the south side,

GR καὶ προέθηκεν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως ἔναντι κυρίου ὃν τρόπον συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ
LA locatis per ordinem lucernis, juxta præceptum Domini.
EN placing the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.

GR καὶ ἔθηκεν τὴν λυχνίαν εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου εἰς τὸ κλίτος τῆς σκηνῆς τὸ πρὸς νότον
LA Posuit et altare aureum sub tecto testimonii contra velum,
EN He set also the altar of gold under the roof of the testimony, over against the veil,

GR καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τοὺς λύχνους αὐτῆς ἔναντι κυρίου ὃν τρόπον συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ
LA et adolevit super eo incensum aromatum, sicut jusserat Dominus Moysi.
EN and burnt upon it the incense of spices, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

GR καὶ ἔθηκεν τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χρυσοῦν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἀπέναντι τοῦ καταπετάσματος
LA Posuit et tentorium in introitu tabernaculi testimonii,
EN And he put also the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony,

GR καὶ ἐθυμίασεν ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ τὸ θυμίαμα τῆς συνθέσεως καθάπερ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ
LA et altare holocausti in vestibulo testimonii, offerens in eo holocaustum, et sacrificia, ut Dominus imperaverat.
EN and the altar of holocaust in the entry of the testimony, offering the holocaust, and the sacrifices upon it, as the Lord had commanded.

LA Labrum quoque statuit inter tabernaculum testimonii et altare, implens illud aqua.
EN And he set the laver between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, filling it with water.

GR καὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τῶν καρπωμάτων ἔθηκεν παρὰ τὰς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς
LA Laveruntque Moyses et Aaron ac filii ejus manus suas et pedes,
EN And Moses and Aaron, and his sons, washed their hands and feet,

LA cum ingrederentur tectum fœderis, et accederent ad altare, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi.
EN when they went into the tabernacle of the covenant, and went to the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

LA Erexit et atrium per gyrum tabernaculi et altaris, ducto in introitu ejus tentorio. Postquam omnia perfecta sunt,
EN He set up also the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, drawing the hanging in the entry thereof. After all things were perfected,

LA operuit nubes tabernaculum testimonii, et gloria Domini implevit illud.
EN the cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord filled it.

GR καὶ ἔστησεν τὴν αὐλὴν κύκλῳ τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ συνετέλεσεν Μωυσῆς πάντα τὰ ἔργα
LA Nec poterat Moyses ingredi tectum fœderis, nube operiente omnia, et majestate Domini coruscante, quia cuncta nubes operuerat.
EN Neither could Moses go into the tabernacle of the covenant, the cloud covering all things, and the majesty of the Lord shining, for the cloud had covered all.

GR καὶ ἐκάλυψεν ἡ νεφέλη τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ δόξης κυρίου ἐπλήσθη ἡ σκηνή
LA Siquando nubes tabernaculum deserebat, proficiscebantur filii Israël per turmas suas:
EN If at any time the cloud removed from the tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward by their troops:

GR καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνάσθη Μωυσῆς εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου ὅτι ἐπεσκίαζεν ἐπ’ αὐτὴν ἡ νεφέλη καὶ δόξης κυρίου ἐπλήσθη ἡ σκηνή
LA si pendebat desuper, manebant in eodem loco.
EN If it hung over, they remained in the same place.

GR ἡνίκα δ’ ἂν ἀνέβη ἡ νεφέλη ἀπὸ τῆς σκηνῆς ἀνεζεύγνυσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ σὺν τῇ ἀπαρτίᾳ αὐτῶν
LA Nubes quippe Domini incubabat per diem tabernaculo, et ignis in nocte, videntibus cunctis populis Israël per cunctas mansiones suas.
EN For the cloud of the Lord hung over the tabernacle by day, and a fire by night, in the sight of all the children of Israel throughout all their mansions.

GR εἰ δὲ μὴ ἀνέβη ἡ νεφέλη οὐκ ἀνεζεύγνυσαν ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς ἀνέβη ἡ νεφέλη

GR νεφέλη γὰρ ἦν ἐπὶ τῆς σκηνῆς ἡμέρας καὶ πῦρ ἦν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς νυκτὸς ἐναντίον παντὸς Ισραηλ ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἀναζυγαῖς αὐτῶν
